Christmas Holidays are finally here! I would like to wish you Happy & Healthy time spent with your families! This year was difficult for all of us, therefore I do believe that you find love, joy, peace and a new hope for better future during these few magical days.
Since the beginning of December I started working on some festive gown for Icorese Doll. The idea came from Giambattista Valli x H&M Collection. My version of the red dress was made of glittery tulle and consists of many drapery layers on the bottom and some decorative pearl buttons on the top.
The end of the year is also a good time to make a constructive summary and to think about new goals for 2021. Probably the same as yours, many of my plans for 2020 had been changed due to the current situation around the world. Even though, I tried to create consequently towards the new direction.
At the beginning of 2020 I completely changed my Doll Team in the Studio. I finally said goodbye to my previous models, and instead of them I started sewing for 16″ Korean Icorose Doll (Yumi, Jennie and Mina head molds). I also started beading on tambours and learned the Luneville embroidery, which both became my most favourite couture techniques.
Because of a greater time limit in 2020, I have built only one Doll Diorama at customer’s request, while the regular sale was unfortunately closed until further notice. The biggest technical success of the passing year was a Doll Stand. I’m still so grateful that many of you love this Stand and it became a bestseller in my Etsy Shop.
Among my plans for 2020 I mentioned about 1:1 scale sewing. This year I made the first step to be people’s seamstress, as I started an individual Pattern Cutting course. I got rid of fears completely, because the human patterns turned out to be not as big as I imagined before.
The second half of 2020 was basically concentrated on my personal life, that’s why I didn’t publish the creative content as often as it was planned. I went through home renovation and still undetermined Son’s surgery in the hospital. That was a reason why I had a longer break in the Studio.
Taking all these points into account, in 2021 I would like to sew for Dolls as much as the time permits. I would love to continue an individual course and finally create my first 1:1 couture dress. I do hope that my new work place will inspire me to be better each day in what I love the most.
May the New Year be happy for all of us and bring the new light for our goals & dreams. Take care of yourself and stay healthy! All the best in 2021 ❤️
